If time is on your side then the answer is No! Short sales are a good way for Buyers to typically get a great deal. One of the obstacles that a short sale may cause it that timing is an unknown. The Buyers and Sellers are at the mercy of the Bank being shorted. The other obstacle is that since no two are alike there really is no way of knowing the outcome until it happens. The good news is that with more short sales occurring, more positive outcomes are being reported. So again, if time is on your side and you are looking for a deal then looking into some short sales might be the right path for you. The other positive for a Buyer interested in purchasing a short sale is that there is no community immune to them. They are popping up all over and will continue to for some time.
